Diabetes Educator – Fenella Purdon

Fenella comes to us with several years of experience in both Diabetes Education and general nursing. she will be available for appointments on Wednesday’s each week as she shares her time between Clocktower and Central Gippsland Health Services.

Fenella has experience in encouraging clients to make informed decisions regarding self-care with Diabetes and Chronic conditions. She brings with her, a  broad knowledge and background in delivery of care for clients living with T1DM and T2DM and Gestational Diabetes.

Fenella’s goal is to foster self-empowerment with a focus on individuality and refer clients to other services when the situation arises, and to assist her patients to:

• Understand diabetes and make informed lifestyle and treatment choices
• Incorporate physical activity into daily life
• Use their medicines effectively and safely
• Monitor and interpret their blood glucose patterns
• Education in insulin therapy


Fenella has extensive skills in continuous glucose monitoring both Abbots- Libre device and AMSL products and blood glucose machines.
